The Hayes Foundation will be closing its doors in 2023. Our final application deadline of June 1 will be for grants for summer and fall 2023 programs. It has been an honor to have served the students and organizations of Rutland County for the past 40 years. As part of our closing, we have made major gifts to two Rutland-County organizations that serve county students. Look for further announcements later in the year.
Our final 2023 application deadline isJune 1 Our board will meet and respond to applications within three weeks of these deadlines. Please plan accordingly, well in advance of your program or competition.
Hayes Foundation team grants, are available ONLY to teams based in Rutland County, Vermont, whose members are in-county residents or out-of-county students enrolled full-time in Rutland County schools.
The Hayes Foundation supports Rutland County teams participating in a wide variety of competitions both locally and across the country. The foundation can provide support for needed materials, competition applications, and other operational needs.
The Hayes Foundation typically does NOT fund such elements as travel to competitions or team marketing items such as uniforms, t-shirts, or swap items. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.
Team applications must be initiated by a team coach, who provides the majority of the information about the competition, team makeup and other necessary details. Because team structures and competition requirements differ widely, The Hayes Foundation requests that the team coach contact us to discuss what information to include with the team application.
Team grants begin with a letter of inquiry, and are similar to organization grants in that they are not specifically form-based. Please contact us to see if your team may be eligible for a grant — it's the first step in the application process.
